Caucus Update: "Birds of prey" edition
Dec. 21st, 2011 09:01 pmIt's hard to predict who is going to win the Iowa Caucus. Three candidates have been at the top of at least one poll in the last two weeks, and that's not including the person who won the Ames Straw Poll and lest we forget, the person who got the endorsement of the Religious Right's main man.
There's pundits, writers, office holders and others taking their best guess, but none of them have as much as credibility as Hawkus.
Hawkus, if you don't know (and you don't), is a red tailed hawk in Dubuque that picks who he thinks will win the Iowa Caucus.
This is done in a very scientific way by putting pictures of all the major candidates, and hiding a mouse (classier news organizations say 'food', but it's a dead mouse) underneath each one. Who Hawkus picks (and this year, took nearly an hour) is who Hawkus thinks will win, and the winner of this week's Hawkus Caucus was Michele Bachmann.
Hawkus has never been wrong.
Then again, I guess I have to say that this is the first time Hawkus has ever picked a candidate, Still, it's only a matter of time before Hawkus gains Punxsutawney Phil credibility.
I don't quite think this means Chely will win the Hawkeye State, still, the Hawkus endorsement is the first piece of good news for the Bachmann Campaign in the last four months.
