White City Tour: Kristen Ford
Aug. 22nd, 2016 07:31 amI was back home from my Illinois trip to head back to Illinois. But this time I got to see garbagecanmusic
As is coincidence, we saw live music.
Check these out:
Hop on Pop- check them here - great pop music
Love 7- here Grunge-ish duo with a talented guitarist (who performs as Bear with Dogfish(?)
Kristen Ford- Kristen is a multi-instrumentalist who loops her music. I read about her prior to going and heard her compared to Tegan and Sara and Modest Mouse. Which is odd. And possibly inaccurate, though I am sure she resembles both at times.
Her type of folk will get her compared to Ani DiFranco of course, and 'looping' seemed to sort of peak out with last decade. Still, I don't mean either of these as slights. I thought she was very talented and should be a bigger star. I really enjoyed her music and recommend it for anyone with alt-rock or alt-folk leanings.
Here is a song which has a studio polish and shows a different side, though it is also very good. Check out some of her live and looping performances on YouTube. You know how to do that.
