This will eventually be three issues collected into trade. I picked Issue #1 up in a rather liberal trip to the comic store (which was well-placed before quarantine). I was a Crow fan from the beginning, but of course, there have been countless spinoffs and sequels and whatnot that I have not kept up on. Issue 2 is expected in June, so I am going to throw in a review and you can take it or leave it.
I like Seeley a lot as a writer, and this seems to be a good jumping in point. Ilias Kyriazis's art is very cool to me. He is the right pick for a company like IDW to give it a professional feel and combined with color from Peach Momoko, it gives it a real contemporary look.
That said, Issue 1 didn't grab me. It at the same time feels like Seeley is trying to fit too much in, and at the same time, doesn't feel like it accomplished nearly enough.
There is enough here, that diehard Crow fans will find to stick around for Issue 2, but with things likely delayed (and even then) this doesn't really have the interest for me that I had hoped for.
