In 1986, the New York band had a top 10 hit "Right on Track".
I hadn't heard it in years, but it was one of my favorite songs back then in the pre-teen years.
It's a bit of funk, a bit of synthpop, and catchy as hell. Too lightweight to fall into the great R&B pantheon of Shalamar, Cameo, Kool and the Gang, et al., and not ambitious enough lyrically to share space with the Howard Joneses of the day.
The band were around a decade, but their most well-known member was gone before they had any traction (Madonna was a drummer for them circa 1979).
This song was perfect for 1986 where new-wave rock and post-disco were the formula for success. I think the movie probably stole all their Googlementum, and the video is ridiculous (with added Wink Martindale and singing chickens). Oddly, a catchy tune is always a catchy tune, and this song would have probably fit in with 90s new jack swing, and even now, this would probably go down with the same crowd who listens to the Wanted and Rixton.
