On the Shelf 073: Saint Etienne
Aug. 31st, 2012 05:48 pmI have heard a lot of good buzz about Saint Etienne's Words and Music by...
It's still Saint Etienne, so it's unlikely to convert a non-dance crowd. However, I think it would go over well with those who are fans of the band or fans of the genre. In fact, it will probably go down as one of the band's best, and might be considered one of the best albums of the year for devotees to alt-dance and electropop.
"Tonight" is a dance floor favorite, and opening track "Over the Border" is a brilliant Black Box Recorder style musing that many here may have went through in their life considering the importance of pop music.
For me, I do like Saint Etienne, but admit that a little of them go a long ways for me. These two songs are ace, though.
