The fun part of the caucus is anyone can get up and put in a good word for the candidates.
My town had a star-studded affair featuring Ron Paul himself, Michele Bachmann's son and daughter, Rick Perry's son, Sen. John Thune and the commander in the real-life "Black hawk Down" (a Gingrich supporter).
My favorite moment of tonight will be the cut to a precinct where a 20-year old "slacker" type took the mic and said "I support Newt Gingrich. Even though he has been married three times, he is a strong defender of marriage. He is still stays in touch with most of his kids..." before being cut off.
It was a little bit of "that guy" syndrome ( I would joke about doing that, but he only ended up looking like a tool), but so far with all the Occupy talk, the only noise I have heard from tonight.
Halfway through, here is how we are sizing up before people (like me) start to turn in.
Santorum 24%
Romney 24%
Paul 22%
Gingrich 13%
Perry 10%
Bachmann 6%
Huntsman 1%
